Description |
This session will present three research tools developed for SSH research communities: Multilingual Corpus of Survey Questionnaires (MCSQ) is a database of survey questionnaires’ texts. The corpus is compiled from European Social Survey (ESS), the European Values Study (EVS) and the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe Covid (SHARE) questionnaires. MCSQ is implemented as an open-source and open-access research resource, and will represent an important resource for both corpus linguists, computational linguists, statisticians, typologists, social scientists, as well as translation scholars and localizers. Automated Translation Verification Tool was created by the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) project as an unsupervised word-to-word translation system, build by training bilingual word embeddings and then finding word translations through dictionary induction. Translation quality is estimated by measuring the number of word pairs that match the human foreign language translation. The Aïoli tool for annotation of cultural heritage objects is based on the democratization of photogrammetry techniques, which allow users to compute a 3D model by correlation of images, and the possibility of massively processing and sharing gathered data through the cloud. The tool is anchored in the development of citizen science and aims to create new methodologies for multidisciplinary work, and to put forward new scenarios of comparative and cooperative analysis of heritage objects.
