EOSC addresses some Open Science aligned issues and challenges shared by ESFRI facilities as well as other pan-European research infrastructures in astronomy and particle physics. Leveraging the successful experience of the H2020 ASTERICS cluster that brought together, for the first time, the astronomy, astrophysics and astroparticle physics facilities encompassed within the ESFRI roadmap, we discuss about the impact and the role of cluster approach in setting up EOSC.
