The National Open Access Research Data Archive (MIDAS) of Lithuania is now fully accessible through the EOSC Marketplace.
MIDAS is a fully-functional archive, with integrated data analysis tools and long-term preservation capabilities. It provides digital services for researchers to share, reuse and manage data.
In addition, information infrastructure tools developed and implemented in MIDAS support the flow of scholarly communication both nationally and globally.
MIDAS was developed by Vilnius University in collaboration with the Vilnius University Hospital and thirteen science, study and medical institutions. The project was funded by EU-structural funds and the national budget of Lithuania, and as of April 2019 has about 290 registered users.
Promoting the service in the EOSC Marketplace allowed the MIDAS team to disseminate their work and to increase the usability of MIDAS services and enhance amount of published data. It also made the MIDAS services more accessible and interoperable and the MIDAS research data available to a larger number of European and global users.
