Federated Cloud status and evolution

Objectives:

Discussion of the EGI Cloud federation model and update from the technical developments that make the federation possible.

Abstract:

Cloud federations enable effective collaboration as they provide a highly customisable and scalable computing platform for any kind of research. The EGI Federated Cloud is a multi-national open cloud system that integrates institutional IaaS clouds into a computing platform for data and/or compute-driven applications and services that is evolving to accommodate new kind of providers, including commercial ones, and new kind of services. 

This session will provide an introduction to the EGI Federated Cloud and will present the strategic evolution of the federation model that will allow this platform to better integrate into the EOSC-hub and provide advanced functionality to users. The session will also include a review of the status of the ongoing technical developments with update talks from the developers and discussion on how they can contribute to the evolution of the federation.
