Following the success of last year's edition, EOSC-hub Week is back in its 2nd installment which will take place on 10-12 April 2019 at the Vienna House Diplomat in Prague, Czech Republic. This year, EOSC-hub Week 2019 brings together both present and future service providers and users of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).
The event comes just after the recent launch of the EOSC in November which saw EOSC-hub's Catalogue of Services incorporated into the new EOSC. With the EOSC now live and in its early stages, the challenge now is to enrich EOSC's service offering to cover all the gaps in research services and increase uptake by the research community. This is what makes EOSC-hub Week 2019 timely.
The EOSC-hub week is accepting abstracts for Posters and Demos. To submit a contribution, please fill the online form. The deadline for contributions is March 3, 17:00 CET.
During the event, an open call for users and service providers will be launched. Stronger involvement from the ESFRI communities, the HPC Centers of Excellence and the public sector will also be sought through three interactive sessions dedicated to discuss how EOSC can make a difference for these different target groups. Industry will also play a relevant role through the Industry and EOSC session featuring the joint presence of the EOSC-hub Digital Innovation Hub and OCRE (Open Cloud for Research Environments project).
The latest developments across the EOSC-sphere will also be discussed and analysed within several sessions dedicated to various thematic areas such as Earth Observation, Life Sciences, Physics and Astrosciences, and Humanities and Social Sciences.
The event won't just cover pan-European EOSC matters. Local developments and initiatives will also be put on the spotlight with a session on National Initiatives.
As the newly launched EOSC gains momentum, it's now the right time to get involved. Register now and find your way to becoming a first-mover as a service provider or reap the rewards of being an early adopter!
