Thursday, December 12, 2019 - 11:00 to 18:15

First workshop for the coordination of the activities within the Task 5.1: Common Computing and data handling.

Big Data Management infrastructures and Analytics

Monday, December 9, 2019 - 09:00 to Thursday, December 12, 2019 - 16:30

Integrative modeling of biomolecular complexes

Tuesday, December 10, 2019 - 10:00 to 16:00

Gathering contributions from experts in the fields, the aim of the workshop is to present the great potential of combining NMR spectroscopy and computational methods for structural elucidations of small molecules, proteins and materials, both in liquid and solid phases. The meeting is intended as an opportunity for a broad audience of interested researchers, from academia and industries, working in materials science and technology, chemistry and life sciences.

Open Science with Jupyter Zenodo and Binder

Wednesday, December 4, 2019 - 13:30 to 17:00

In recent years, the vision of Open Science has emerged as a new paradigm for transparent, data-driven science capable of accelerating competitiveness and innovation.  EGI Notebooks is a services of the EGI e-infrastructure, providing a user-friendly and highly flexible Jupyter-based web environment for the development and execution of data analysis and visualisation ‘notebooks’. Notebooks can contain programming codes in various languages, HTML scripts, dynamic visualization, equations as well as images and explanatory text to provide guidance and context for the analysis. Through notebooks users can easily share concepts, ideas and working applications, capturing the full analytical methodology, connections to data and descriptive text to interpret those data. Binder can turn Jupyter notebooks reproducible and reusable by anyone, anywhere. Zenodo is an open access repository for research publications, scientific data and other 'research objects'. Jupyter, Binder and Zenodo are pillars of Open Science.

FitSM Foundation Training (EOSC Symposium co-location)

Thursday, November 28, 2019 - 12:45 to Friday, November 29, 2019 - 18:15

IT Service Management is a discipline that helps provide services with a focus on customer needs and in a professional manner. It is widely used in the commercial and public sectors to manage IT services of all types, but current solutions are very heavyweight with high barriers to entry.

FitSM is an open, lightweight standard for professionally managing services. It brings order and traceability to a complex area and provides simple, practical support in getting started with ITSM. FitSM training and certification provide crucial help in delivering services and improving their management. It provides a common conceptual and process model, sets out straightforward and realistic requirements and links them to supporting materials.

FitSM is the reference framework being used in both EOSC-hub and EOSCpilot projects, among other research infrastructures as well. Through FitSM, the EOSC-hub project aims at conducting effective IT service management in the EOSC federated environment and achieving a baseline level of ITSM that can act in support of ‘management interoperability’ in federated environments from EOSC related projects (e.g. EOSC-Nordic).

In addition, participants have an opportunity to receive a formal certification backed by certification authority APMG for anyone successfully passing the exam (20 multiple choice questions, 13 required to pass). Both the costs of the training and the exam is covered and offered by the EOSC-hub project for free.

The training is co-located with the EOSC Symposium taking place on 26-28 November 2019 and limits the overlap with the kickoff meeting programme.

Open Science and Research Results Exploitation: friends or foes?

Friday, November 29, 2019 - 14:00

Have questions about Open Data, Open Science and research results exploitation? Join this OpenAIRE and EOSC-hub webinar that will cover Horizon 2020 rules and good practices approaches to addressing these issues in Consortium Agreements and Data Management Plans.

Istanziazione e utilizzo di batch system on demand su infrastrutture cloud.

Monday, November 25, 2019 - 14:00 to Thursday, November 28, 2019 - 12:30
